Mark Rowell Wallin
Mark Rowell Wallin is an assistant professor in the department of Journalism, Communication and New Media at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. His research interests run the gambit from technical and professional writing, through visual semiotics and critical theory, to adaptation studies. Much of his work focuses on the intersections of representational modes: textual, visual and auditory. His previous publications have addressed the relationship between film and video games, critical appraisals of marketing strategy and the application of rhetorical and critical theory to mountain film. The work in this article arises out of his larger project of developing a unified theory of adaptation from the foundations of semiotics and rhetoric.
