Mette Agger Eriksen
Mette Agger Eriksen, Ph.D., is associate professor in (co)design methodology and sustainable change at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design (KADK). Dr Agger Eriksen is trained as an architect specialized in design. Her doctoral studies focused on interaction Design and Participatory Design with her thesis entitled: ‘Material matters in co-designing – formatting & staging with participating materials in co-design projects, events & situations’ (Malmö University, 2012). As a part of the X-lab team during her doctoral studies, she co-progressed understandings of programmatic research-through-design, which she continues to apply in her own research combined with participatory design and Actor-Network Theory approaches. Her research continues to concern the socio-material relations of co-designing practices – increasingly over time in infrastructuring processes and with a focus on sustainable and public sector transformation. Since 2017, she has run a yearly doctoral course at KADK on practice-based design research and research-through-design.
