Milla Tiainen

Dr Milla Tiainen is a senior lecturer in musicology at the University of Turku. She has published extensively in international and Finnish peer-reviewed journals and edited collections on music performance studies, voice studies and methodological development of new materialist and posthumanist theories in the study of arts. She is author of Locating the Composer (University of Jyväskylä: Research Center for Contemporary Culture Publication Series, 2005; in Finnish) and Becoming-Singer (University of Turku, 2012). She is also co-editor of Musical Encounters with Deleuze and Guattari (2017), and Special Issues for Body & Society (2014) and The Polish Journal of Aesthetics (2020), among others. Her monograph on operatic performance is under contract with the University of Minnesota Press.
