Mirela David

Mirela David is an assistant professor in modern Chinese history/WGST at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. She holds a Ph.D. in history from NYU and two MA degrees: in Sinology from Eberhard Karls University and in Asian studies from the University of Bucharest. Her chapter ‘#MeToo in post-socialist countries: A comparative analysis of Romanian and Chinese feminist activism against sexual violence’ was published in 2020 in The Routledge Handbook of the Politics of the #MeToo Movement. She has published articles on eugenics and contraception in China in the Canadian Bulletin of Medical History and Asia Pacific Perspectives.
