Myria Georgiou

Myria Georgiou teaches media and communications at the Department of Media and Communications, London School of Economics. She has conducted research on diaspora, migration, the city and media, primarily in the United Kingdom and across major European cities. Her work has focused on the role of media in the construction of identities in urban and transnational locations. Her recent work has examined the role of media and communications in shaping cities as social and political spaces. She is currently writing a book titled Media and the City (forthcoming, Polity Press).
