Omnia Salah

Omnia Salah is an Egypt-based visual artist and lecturer in the Faculty of Applied Arts and Sculpture at Helwan University. She received her Ph.D. from Helwan University in Cairo, Egypt, in 2014, and obtained a BFA from the Faculty of Applied Arts, Helwan University, in 2003. In 2012 she received a three-month DAAD Scholarship to study interactive art in Germany at the Academy of Media Art in Cologne. Her work focuses on a variety of investigations of women and society in the Middle East. Salah uses different conceptual approaches in her artwork, which are derived from her personal life and her own experiences. She presents her ideas through sculpture, video installations and interactive installations. She has participated in many well-known group and solo exhibitions since 2000.
