Patrick Mathieu

Patrick Mathieu is the CEO of a private research lab and strategy consulting firm, patrickmathieu singularité (PMS), based in Paris, France, with a global reach. He invented the theory of singularity in the field of organizational identity. For more than 25 years, he has been developing conceptual and operational tools describing the invisible structure that characterizes an organization’s identity over time. The spiritual dimension of an organization resides in its singularity. He and his team work with CEOs and managers of large companies, mid-sized businesses, startups and public organizations. Some of the most prominent luxury companies he has counted among his clients are Hermès, Yves Saint Laurent, Kering, Edmond de Rothschild, Parfums Caron and Macán wines. He has published in 2015, L’imaginaire du luxe, co-authored with fashion expert Frédéric Monneyron. In 2021 he published a chapter in Catherine Voynnet-Fourboul’s Le management spirituel en pratiques, soon to be translated in English. His research work has led to three Ph.D. theses in France, in the fields of management science, semiology and linguistics with universities in Paris, Lyon and Limoges. One of them was published as a book La raison d’être authentique, in 2019. He also published scientific papers, along with his team member Eric Gautier. Patrick Mathieu teaches the theory of singularity at University Paris V Descartes and at Ciffop in Paris II Panthéon-Assas. He was also invited at Brooklyn College in 2019.
