Peter K. Fallon

Peter K. Fallon is professor of media studies at Roosevelt University and a graduate (1996) of the doctoral programme in media ecology at New York University (NYU). He is the author of four books, including two media ecology award winners, Printing, Literacy, and Education in Eighteenth Century Ireland: Why the Irish Speak English (Edwin Mellen Press, 2005) (winner of the Marshall McLuhan Award for Outstanding Book in 2007), The Metaphysics of Media: Toward an End to Postmodern Cynicism and the Construction of a Virtuous Reality (University of Scranton Press, 2010) (winner of the Lewis Mumford Award for Outstanding Scholarship in Technology in the year, 2010) and a third book, Cultural Defiance, Cultural Deviance (SophiaOmni Press, 2013). A former editor (2009–11) of Explorations in Media Ecology (EME), the international scholarly journal of the Media Ecology Association, he is also a member of the International Jacques Ellul Society. His latest book, Propaganda 2.1: Understanding Propaganda in the Digital Age, was published in September 2022 by Cascade Books.
