Peter Oakley
Peter Oakley is reader in material culture at the Royal College of Art. He specializes in research focusing on materials, making, and manufacturing relating to luxury and prestige goods and artworks. He has long-term research interests in Thai craft textile production, European fine jewellery and luxury watch manufacturing, and responsible sourcing certification programmes. He is currently principal investigator for two UKRI-funded projects: Sustainable Materials in the Creative Industries and Ethical Gold & Government Policy, as well as being the UK lead for 4Cs: From Conflict to Conviviality through Creativity and Culture, an EACEA Creative Europe project.
