Rachel Grasso

Rachel Grasso is a Ph.D. student and course instructor in the Department of Italian Studies at the University of Toronto. She holds a BA in international affairs with a minor in Italian language and literature from the George Washington University as well as an MA in Italian studies from Georgetown University. Her research interests include Italian dialects, Italian politics, migration, and Italian rap and trap music. Her dissertation, like her master's thesis, focuses on the power of rap and trap music created by second-generation Italian artists in raising awareness about political, economic and social issues in Italy.
