Raquel Paiva
Raquel Paiva is full professor at the Communication School of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a fellow-researcher at Brazilian National Research Council, and the author of ten books in communitarian communication. She graduated in journalism, majored at CIESPAL – Quito and obtained her master’s and Ph.D. (partly at Universitá degli Studi di Torino, Italy, with the guidance of the philosopher Gianni Vattimo) in the Doctorate Program of Communication and Culture – at Communication School of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She belongs to the board of directors at the most important Brazilian post-graduate associations as Compós and Intercom, and was a delegate at the National Research Council. She is also a journalist and a writer and the Head of the Laboratory for Studies in Communitarian Communication.
