Dr. Romana Turina is a screenwriter, filmmaker and historian. Her professional practice in film and documentary prompted her to develop work in the essay film form, and explore the links between research as film and the expression of postmemory and silenced history. Recent works include the essay films Lunch with Family (2016) and San Sabba (2016) shortlisted at the AHRC Research in Film Awards and awarded at the Hollywood International Independent Documentary Awards 2018. Romana taught screenwriting at the University of York and University of Greenwich. She is a senior lecturer in screenwriting at the Arts University Bournemouth, UK.
