Sally Gardner

Sally Gardner is a former dancer and holds a honorary research fellowship in the School of Communication and Creative Arts, Deakin University, Melbourne. She has performed and made work with dance companies in London, New York, Sydney and Melbourne and has been a regular contributor to local and international arts and humanities forums. She was a co-editor (1985–2012) of Writings on Dance, a publication dedicated to the moving body, and translated Laurence Louppe’s Poétique de la Danse Contemporaine into English (Poetics of Contemporary Dance, Dance Books, 2010). In 2020 she co-edited an anthology of essays dealing with the Australian Black Summer, Continent Aflame: Responses to an Australian Catastrophe (Palaver, 2020).
