Sigrid Kannengießer
Dr. Sigrid Kannengießer is research associate (postdoc, since 2012) at the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen, Germany. In her Ph.D. thesis, which was funded by the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation (2009–12) and awarded the Bremer Studienpreis 2013, she analysed the media appropriation of APC Women, a network of civil society organizations, for translocal networking and local empowerment projects. She was in Zambia and South Africa for research purposes. In her current research project she analyses consumer-critical media practices.
