Simos Zenios

Simos Zenios is associate director of the UCLA SNF Center for the Study of Hellenic Culture. He holds a Ph.D. in comparative literature from Harvard University (2018). His research focuses on the relation between aesthetics and political power in the European literature of the long nineteenth century. Zenios is currently working on a book project titled Voice of Power, Voice of Terror: Lyric, Violence, and the Greek Revolution. His research has been supported by fellowships and research grants from the American School of Classical Studies in Athens and the Friends of the Princeton University Library. Studies on European philhellenism, Enlightenment aesthetics and rhetoric, and Greek modernism have been published in American and European academic journals.
