Sina Nitzsche

Sina Nitzsche is the founder of the European Hiphop Studies Network (https://europeanhiphopstudiesnetwork.wordpress.com/). She edited the volumes Hip-Hop in Europe: Cultural Identities and Transnational Flows and Popular Music and Public Diplomacy: Transnational and Transdisciplinary Perspectives and has published in the International Journal of Cultural Studies. Sina Nitzsche organized the international and interdisciplinary conferences HipHop im Revier (Hip-Hop in the Ruhr Area) and Popular Music and Public Diplomacy, and was a visiting scholar at Oglethorpe University, Atlanta. The cultural studies scholar teaches American studies with a special emphasis on hip-hop, popular cultures and media at Ruhr-Universtität Bochum and at TU Dortmund. As an educator, she also organized several hip-hop education events in the Ruhr Area, such as TU Dortmund’s first Hip-Hop Education Week and the first Hip-Hop Summer School at the Dortmunder U, Centre for Arts and Creativity.
