Sisse Siggaard Jensen
Sisse Siggaard Jensen (Ph.D.) is Professor of Digital Communication at the Department of Communication, Business and Information Technologies (CBIT), Roskilde University, Denmark. Recently, she submitted the disputats (doctoral dissertation) ‘Ways of virtual world-making: Actors and avatars’ for the doctorate degree Dr Phil. Her current research interests include questions about how actors make sense of their chosen virtual world(s), avatars and social relationships. Virtual ethnography and qualitative in situ video interviews are some of her preferred methods of studying the micro-moments of actors’ sense-making and engagement. She is the head of research for the project, ‘Sense-making and user-driven innovation in virtual worlds 2008–2012’ (worlds.ruc.dk). She has a long record of practice and research in the fields of networked learning and communication. Sisse Siggaard Jensen is one of the initiators of ‘Experience Lab RUC’ (experiencelab.ruc.dk) – a Lab aimed at experimental research on virtual world-making, immersive technologies, and mixed and augmented realities.
