Tatiana Faia

Tatiana Faia is a Portuguese poet. She has authored five books of poems: Lugano (Artefacto, 2011); Street Theatre (do lado esquerdo, 2013); A Room in Athens (Tinta da China Press, 2018); Leopard and Abstraction (Fresca, 2020); Hadrian (não edições, 2022) and one book of short stories, St. Louis of the Burning Portuguese (Enfermaria 6, 2016). In 2019, A Room in Athens was awarded the Portuguese PEN Prize for Poetry. Since 2013, she has been one of the editors of the independent publishing project ‘Enfermaria 6’ (‘Ward 6’). She holds a Ph.D. in ancient Greek literature. She has translated the Homeric Hymns, Philo of Alexandria, Herman Melville and Anne Carson into Portuguese. Some of her books and texts are published in several countries in Europe and America. She has written two libretti for opera in collaboration with the Portuguese composer João Ricardo. She lives in Oxford with her husband and two black cats. She tries to spend as much time in Athens as she can.
