Thakshala Fernando

Thakshala is a freelance researcher and a writer. He obtained his LLB in Laws from the London School of Economics, University of London. He completed his postgraduate studies (International Studies and Diplomacy, Masters of Arts), at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. He was a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and won a CIMA commendation for being world joint 10th in Risk and Control Studies. His MA dissertation examined the Role of Buddhism in Post Conflict Sri Lanka. Thakshala also worked as a journalist for the BBC World Service – Sinhala Section for over ten years. His research interests include Buddhism, Sri Lankan Buddhist culture, practice and politics, Buddhist reconciliation, Human Rights and International Politics.
