Tim Palmer is chair and professor of Film Studies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, whose research has been supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Council of Learned Societies. He is the author of Irreversible (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015) and Brutal Intimacy: Analyzing Contemporary French Cinema (Wesleyan University Press, 2011), and co-editor of Directory of World Cinema: France (University of Chicago Press and Intellect, 2013). His new book, Cinema Marianne: A New History of Women and Marginality in the French Film Ecosystem, is under advance contract with Edinburgh University Press.
