Tongyun Yin

Tongyun Yin received her MA in History from Renmin University of China in 1996 and MA in Museum Studies from The George Washington University in 2002. Holding a Ph.D. from University of California, San Diego on the history, theory, and criticism of modern and contemporary Chinese art, she is currently the Associate Curator of Asian Art at the MacLean Collection in the USA. She had worked as the Assistant Curator of modern Chinese history in the Museum of The Chinese Revolution (now The National Museum of China) from 1996 to 2000 and as the Associate Professor in the Institute of Chinese Archeaologya and Art History at Tsinghua University from 2003 to 2009. Her research interests are on the institutionalization of Chinese art and cultural heritage. She have published extensively on museum studies and on art history, including an e-Catalogue on fifty masterpieces from China, Korea, and Southeast Asia in the MacLean Collection. Her book, entitled Ideas in Transmission: Representing Classical Literature in Chinese Painting, will be published by Liaoning Fine Arts Publishing House in 2017.
