Ulla Kallenbach

Ulla Kallenbach, Ph.D., is associate professor at the Department for Theatre Studies, University of Bergen, Norway. Her principal field of research is the cultural history of imagination and dramaturgy, especially the performativity of drama and the point of view of the spectator. Her monograph The Theatre of Imagining – A Cultural History of Imagination in the Mind and on the Stage was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2018. Her other publications include ‘“Beautiful dream” or “loathsome delusion”: Imagination and ideality in nineteenth-century Denmark’, European Romantic Review, 29, pp. 51–61. She is co-director of the Centre for Historical Performance Practice, Aarhus University, Denmark.
