Uwe Fleckner

Uwe Fleckner, born 1961, professor of Art History at Hamburg University and co-director of the Warburg-Haus; co-editor of the collected writings of Carl Einstein and Aby Warburg (vol. II.2 ‘Ausstellungen und Bilderreihen’, Berlin 2012). Co-director of the international research network ‘Bilderfahrzeuge. Warburg’s legacy and the future of iconology’ (Warburg-Haus, Hamburg, in collaboration with Warburg Institute, London/Humboldt University, Berlin/Kunsthistorisches Institut, Florence/Centre allemand d’histoire de l’art, Paris). Author of numerous books and articles on eighteenth to twenty-first century art history, especially on French and German art and art theory, and political iconography.
