Virginia M. Madsen

Virginia M. Madsen is a former ABC broadcaster and, since 2008, a media studies and media history scholar and senior lecturer at Macquarie University, Australia. She leads the ARC Discovery Project ‘Cultural Conversations: A History of ABC Radio National’. Due for completion in 2021, the project will deliver a book-length study and an array of other scholarly work as it charts the evolution of the ABC’s oldest national network, assessing its value in the Australian context and on a number of levels (within the academy, on writing, art and performance, or on public understandings of science and religion).
