Walid Akef

Walid Akef is currently a Ph.D. student studying the history of art and architecture at Harvard University. Walid earned his BA in Islamic art and architecture from Ain Shams University in Cairo, his MA in art history from the University of Granada, and an MA in Muslim cultures from the Aga Khan University in London. Walid’s research interests lie in the field of the history of architecture, and the field of Islamic architecture in particular, with a geographical focus on the architecture of the western Islamic world, especially of al-Andalus and Sicily.
