Yves Laberge

Dr. Yves Laberge is sociologist and film historian. He serves as a Series editor for the Book series L'espace public and Cinéma et société at 'Les Presses de l'Université Laval', and also for a Parisian publisher, L'Harmattan. Among various publications, Yves Laberge has contributed more than 100 articles and entries on film studies in a dozen of encyclopedias and reference books published in the United States, including Men and Masculinities: A Social, Cultural, and Historical Encyclopedia (ABC-Clio, 2004), edited by Michael Kimmel and Amy Aronson.

He served as a member of the advisory board for three encyclopedias: France and the Americas: Culture, Politics, and History (Transatlantic Relations Series, ABC-Clio, 2005), Germany and the Americas (Transatlantic Relations Series, ABC-Clio, 2005), and Encyclopedia of the Blues (Routledge, 2006). He currently serves as a board member for three academic journals: New Cinemas, Laval théologique et philosophique, and Sociological Research Online. Yves Laberge has written more than 450 books reviews in some 40 peer-reviewed journals and given about a hundred papers and lectures in five countries.
