Panagiota (Teti) Nikolopoulou
Panagiota (Teti) Nikolopoulou, a graduate of the Vocational Dance School of Niki Kontaxaki, holds B.Ph.Ed., MA and Ph.D. from the School of Physical Education and Sports Science of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. At present, she teaches physical education classes in public schools, as well as release techniques and improvisation/composition at vocational dance schools in Athens. As a practitioner of contact improvisation, she also teaches contact improvisation workshops in Greece and abroad. As a choreographer, she has created twenty performances initially with her dance company Enniamorfo, some of them funded by the Greek Ministry of Culture. Since 2016, she has been continuously choreographing performances for the company Anima-Soma that have been presented in various theatres and venues in Athens and in other cities in Greece, all with funding from the Greek Ministry of Culture. Her research interest is broadly focused on how somatic practices facilitate the multiple internal/external awareness in an embodied choreographic praxis.
