Amir Saeid M. Mahmoodi

Amir Saeid Mahmoodi was born in 1961 in Tehran, Iran. Amir went to the United States and studied architecture at Washington State University, where he received his BS and B.Arch. in 1984. Then he went to CalPoly, in San Luis Obispo, California, and received his M.Arch. in 1986. He worked in two architectural offices in California for three years. Amir returned to Iran in 1989 and became a faculty member of the School of Architecture at the University of Tehran. He received a scholarship to study his Ph.D. at Leeds, UK, from 1997 to 2001. His Ph.D. dissertation was about the design process in architecture using interactive thinking process. He teaches in undergrad, grad and Ph.D. courses. Amir’s main areas of teaching and research interests include architectural design, design process, architectural programming and architectural education. His works appear in the Journal of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran.
