Anika Babel

Anika Babel is a final-year doctoral candidate at the University College Dublin. Her thesis, supervised by Dr Laura Anderson, examines the narrative and symbolic roles of pianos in contemporary narrative films. She is the founding president of the Dublin Musicology Collective and co-editor of The Musicology Review. Further to sharing papers at conferences like Music and the Moving Image and publishing research in journals such as this, Anika is a keen public musicologist. She contributes and consults regularly for Ireland’s national broadcaster, RTÉ, and enjoys working in community settings.
