Balázs Zágoni
Balázs Zágoni is one of the founders of Filmtett, a Cluj-based film journal and an NGO for cinematic culture and education. He earned his DLA in 2012 at the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest, with a thesis on contemporary European and Hollywood screenwriting. He has written several articles on film, fifteen books for children and young adults and other media products. For his book A Gömb – Fekete Fény 1 (The Sphere – Black Light Serie) (Móra, 2018), he won the Best Young Adult Fiction Prize in 2019 in Hungary. His latest fiction book Hollywood on Someș (Pagony, 2022) is set in Cluj, during the golden years of the local silent film production and the First World War. He joined the team of Babeș-Bolyai University in 2018, where he is an assistant professor teaching creative writing, screenwriting and film history.
