Caroline James-Garrod

Caroline James-Garrod completed master’s and Ph.D. degrees at the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies (SHAPS) at The University of Melbourne. She graduated in April 2023 in recognition of her mixed-method Ph.D. research study of journalist time and connectivity in online workplace settings. The qualitative study considers how values, moral well-being and best practice are tested in a social landscape of mobile online information and communications technologies. Caroline’s research interests include journalism, applied ethics and social time philosophy. She is currently a casual teacher of journalism and media studies at Monash, Melbourne and Deakin universities in Melbourne. Prior to this, she was a print journalist for twenty years.
