Clara Escoda

Clara Escoda is a lecturer of English literature and drama at the University of Barcelona, where she holds a research and teaching postdoctoral position. She holds an MA in the humanities (Maryland, USA), and her doctoral thesis focused on Martin Crimp’s theatre. She has published the book Martin Crimp’s Theatre: Collapse as Resistance to Late Capitalist Society (De Gruyter, 2013), as well as articles on theatre and performance, and on Martin Crimp’s plays. Her current research focuses on female playwrights and affect theory. She is a member of ‘British Theatre in the Twenty-First Century: Crisis, Affect, Community’, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (FFI2016-75443 [MINECO/FEDER, UE]), with Dr. Mireia Aragay as Principal Investigator.
