Clara Sanz-Hernando

Clara Sanz-Hernando is an assistant professor of journalism at the Faculty of Documentation and Communication Sciences at the University of Extremadura (Badajoz campus) and graduate and doctor in information sciences with the mention Extraordinary Award. She has worked in professional journalism for over thirty years, both in private media and in the public administration, where she was in charge of communications. As a teacher, she has taught courses related to both the press and the radio. She belongs to the ARDOPA Research Group (University of Extremadura). Her lines of investigation are centred on the communications media during the Spanish Civil War and Francoism, and the organization of the news media ecosystem after the upheaval leading to the establishment of digital journalism. She has authored various comparative studies on the regimes of censorship under both the Spanish and the Portuguese dictatorships.
