Dafeng Zhong
Dafeng Zhong, Associate Professor of Film Theory and Chair of the Department of Scriptwriting and Cinema Studies at the Beijing Film Academy, China, is a co-author of Zhongguo dianying shi (History of Chinese Cinema, 1995) and a contributor to Film in Contemporary China: Critical Debates, 1979-1989 (Praeger, 1993). Zhen Zhang, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Chicago, is writing a dissertation on Chinese silent cinema and the experience of modernity. Yingjin Zhang, Assistant Professor of Chinese, Comparative Literature, and Film Studies at Indiana University, is the author of The City in Modern Chinese Literature and Film (Stanford, 1996), a co-author of Encyclopedia of Chinese Film (Routledge, 1998), and the editor of Engaging Texts: Essays in Chinese Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies (Stanford, 1998) and Romance, Sexuality, Identity: Cinema and Urban Culture in Shanghai, 1910s-1940s (Stanford, 1998).
