Daniel J. Nappo

Daniel J. Nappo is professor of Spanish at The University of Tennessee at Martin. He completed his Ph.D. in Spanish language and literature at Michigan State University, in 2003, under the supervision of Professor Javier D. Durán. Nappo’s areas of research include Spanish American literature, the history of the Spanish language and genres of Latin American and Spanish popular culture. His most recent scholarly article examines a short story by the Nicaraguan poet, Rubén Darío. In 2020, he published the first monograph written in English about the Spanish singer and songwriter, Joaquín Sabina, The Poetry and Music of Joaquín Sabina: An Angel with Black Wings (Lexington).
