Gabriela Aceves Sepúlveda

Gabriela Aceves Sepúlveda, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the School of Interactive Arts and Technology at Simon Fraser University, where she directs the research-creation studio cMAS and teaches media arts production, theory and history. Her research centres on the histories of women, feminism(s), art and media at the intersection of science and technology. She is the author of the award-winning book Women Made Visible: Feminist Art and Media in Post-1968 Mexico City (University of Nebraska Press, 2019) and several peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and research-creation projects on feminist media art and archival practices in Latin America. A significant part of her research-creation practice concerns the production of multimedia art installations investigating the body as a site of cultural, gendered and techno-scientific inscriptions.
