Heba El-Sagheer Aly
Heba El-Sagheer Aly is a Ph.D. student at the School of Media, Film and Journalism at Monash University. Her Ph.D. project is a comparative study that examines portrayals of women in digital news media in the Middle East and the West. In 2021, she won the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) grant to work on a project examining the influence of German Bauhaus and Danish modern styles on set design in Egyptian cinema and its political connotation. The project was turned into a book entitled Modern Taste in Egyptian Film Furniture and Set Design (El-Ain, 2022).
