Helena Louise Dare-Edwards
Helena Louise Dare-Edwards completed her Ph.D. in 2016, specializing in contemporary tween media and cultures, online ethnography and youth identity construction with a focus on TV and music fandom. Since then, Helena has worked at CHILDWISE, a leading specialist in research with children and young people. At CHILDWISE, she runs the termly trend tracker ‘Playground Buzz’ and conducts qualitative and quantitative research with 5–17-year-olds for a range of clients from TV broadcasters to charities and government agencies to publishers. Her research particularly focuses on kids’ media consumption and youth internet trends, with an interest in mental health, gender and LGBT+ youth. She has published in Transformative Works and Cultures, Celebrity Studies and View: Journal of European Television History and Culture among others.
