John Nauright

John Nauright, Ph.D., is Professor of Sport and Leisure Cultures and Director of the Centre for Sport, Tourism and Leisure Studies in the School of Sport and Service Management at the University of Brighton in the United Kingdom. His four-volume co-edited work Sports Around the World: History, Culture and Practice (ABC-CLIO, 2012) was awarded as a Best Reference Work for 2012. His other recent works include: The Routledge Companion to Sports History (2010); Long Run to Freedom: Sport Cultures and Identities in South Africa (2010); Soccer Around the World: A Cultural Guide to the World’s Favorite Sport (2014); and Beyond CLR James: Race and Ethnicity in Sport (2014).
