Katie Taylor

Katie Taylor is a final year Ph.D. student in English studies at Liverpool John Moores University. Her thesis considers theories of Blackness such as fugitivity and futurity in its examination of how The Crisis and The Brownies’ Book fostered new forms of writing for children that centred racial politics in their exploration of a range of topics including, environmentalism, education, visual culture and photography. She works as a sessional tutor in the English department at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) and as a research assistant to the associate dean for research in the Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies.
