Kit Tapson

Inspired by her work as a counsellor of young people, Christine (Kit) undertook a Ph.D. about young people who bully, with a focus upon health and wellbeing. Hereafter, she realised her experience at the University of Surrey researching the effect of mindfulness upon NHS middle managers and designing a tool kit to promote compassion amongst clinical practitioners. Motivated to pursue her interest in the connection between health and wellbeing, Kit moved to the University of Winchester, where, as a research fellow at the Centre for Arts as Wellbeing (part of the University’s Health and Wellbeing Group), she studies how the arts can enhance the welfare and happiness of many community groups including elderly people with dementia and disenfranchised and marginalised populations.
