Linda Palfreeman

Dr Linda Palfreeman is a lecturer in the Department of Humanities, Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, Elche, Spain. Her chief area of research is the history of medicine and the administration of medical assistance/humanitarian aid during wartime, particularly during the First World War and the Spanish Civil War. Publications include Aristocrats, Adventurers and Ambulances: British Ambulance Units in the Spanish Civil War (Sussex Academic Press/Cañada Blanch Centre for Contemporary Spanish Studies, 2014); Spain Bleeds: The Development of Battlefield Blood Transfusion during the Civil War (Sussex Academic Press/Cañada Blanch Centre for Contemporary Spanish Studies, 2015); Friends in Flanders: The Humanitarian Work of the Friends’ Ambulance Unit During the First World War (Sussex Academic Press/Cañada Blanch Centre for Contemporary Spanish Studies, 2017).
