Mara Trübenbach graduated from the Bauhaus-University Weimar (Germany) with a M.Sc. in architecture in 2018, having studied before at the Peter Behrens School of Arts in Dusseldorf (Germany) and at the Technical University Vienna (Austria). She is strongly interested in the intersection of craft, material and alternative design methods in architecture such as performance and theatre studies. Mara has gained a cross-disciplinary professional horizon from interior design to landscape architecture in numerous offices across Europe. In 2019, she was selected to join the Marie Slodowska-Curie Actions funded EU Horizon 2020 international training network TACK/Communities of Tacit Knowledge: Architecture and its Ways of Knowing. Since 2020, Mara has been a Ph.D. fellow at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (Norway), where she is investigating how material empathy contributes to the design process in architecture.
