Markus Hallensleben

Markus Hallensleben is an associate professor in the Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies and an affiliated faculty in the Centre for European Studies at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver BC, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) territory. He has also served as steering committee member at UBC’s Centre for Migration Studies, where he founded the transdisciplinary research group on narratives of migration and belonging: https://migration.ubc.ca/research/research-groups/narratives/. Besides his interest in postmigration, he currently works on narratives of decolonization, including Indigenous storywork as a methodological approach to decolonize and Indigenize European and migration studies.
