Rebecca Halliday

Dr Rebecca Halliday is an assistant professor (limited-term) in the School of Professional Communication at Ryerson University (renaming in process) in Toronto, Canada, and has previously taught as a contract lecturer in its School of Fashion. She holds a Ph.D. in communication and culture and an MA in theatre and performance studies from York University. Her research focuses on material and immaterial communication practices and user engagements across the domains of fashion, performance, politics and urban life. She is the author of The Fashion Show Goes Live: Exclusive and Mediatized Performance (Bloomsbury, 2022), and her research has appeared in peer-reviewed publications and edited collections in fashion, communication, media and performance studies. She has also freelanced as a writer, editor and researcher for a prominent Canadian department store.
