Sada Niang

Sada Niang is professor of African Caribbean literatures and cinemas at the University of Victoria. He has written extensively on issues of cultural representation, identity and languages in African/Caribbean creative writings and cinemas. He is author of Djibril Diop Mambéty, un cinéaste à contre courant (L’Harmattan, 2002) and Nationalist African Cinema: Legacy and Transformations (Lexington, 2014). He is co-editor of Critical Interventions, 11:3 (2017). His current research focuses on Francophone African documentary films.
