Sameh El-Feki

Sameh El-Feki is a practising architect who has contributed a number of public and private buildings to the Egyptian local built environment. He is also an associate professor in the Department of Architecture and Urban Design at Nile University. During his educational journey, he was involved in the validation process of architectural programmes from international bodies to Egyptian institutes, with different capacities. He was awarded his Ph.D. from Edinburgh College of Art, United Kingdom, and is specialized in architectural theories and design. His research focus is the application of western philosophies on the oriental traditional built environment. Through his research, he built an understanding of epistemologies that recognize the dynamic nature of both architecture and the society. This has emerged from his interest in studying the discourse of environmental design, particularly the relationship between architecture and human behaviour. In addition to being research-active, he has supervised a number of theses and is a reviewer for a number of international journals.
