Shuyi Cao
Shuyi Cao (b. 1990, Guangzhou, China) is a New York-based artist whose practice explores alchemical approaches to object making and knowledge production. Her work has been widely exhibited in the United States and China, including UrbanGlass (NY), Fou Gallery (NY), Today Art Museum (Beijing), West Bund Art & Design Fair (Shanghai), Ming Contemporary Art Museum (Shanghai), Gallery Weekend (Beijing), Shin Gallery (NY), A. I. R. Gallery (NY), Westbeth Gallery (NY), Site-specific installation for MASSMoca (MA), among others. She is the recipient of the Today Art Museum Wang Shikuo Nomination Award (Beijing, 2021) and Hyundai Blue Prize 2020 finalist (Beijing, 2020). She teaches at Parsons School of Design and is a community member of NEW INC at the New Museum. She holds an MFA in fine arts from Parsons School of Design (2018), a Bachelor of Laws (2013) and a Master of Public Administration (2016) from Fudan University.
