Susan Cake
Susan Cake lectures in screenwriting in the Film, Screen & New Media Discipline at Queensland University of Technology, Australia. She received an Outstanding Doctoral Thesis award in 2018 for her creative practice-led research examining how writing narrative comedy performed creative resistance in her proposed television series, Fighting Fit. As a screen and media curriculum expert, Susan was the curriculum lead on a $250,000 ABC-funded project aimed at increasing student media production across the South Pacific. Her research interests include screenwriting pedagogy, the role of humour in writing to facilitate perspective shifts and expanding conceptions of writing for ‘the screen’.
