Toshiko Irie

Toshiko Irie is a lecturer at the Center for General Education Science Division, Aichi Institute of Technology, Aichi, Japan. Irie has studied transnational history especially between America and Japan at Doshisha University, Kyoto. While she was an MA student, she studied abroad as an exchange student at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa for a year, where she joined the Department of American Studies. She obtained her Ph.D. degree (American studies) from the Graduate of Global Studies, American Studies Cluster in Doshisha University in 2021. Irie’s interests in research include transnational encounters, the Pacific world and Takarazuka Revue. She is also an avid Takarazuka fan.
